Ok some of you are having issues and I am not so I prepared some captures of Windows color management settings, CorelDRAW default application settings and CorelDRAW document settings.
Unfortunately using some settings in the past may have created a situation where the files view in 2019 incorrectly no matter what you do so. My suggestion is to set Windows color management settings and then reboot the machine, the set CorelDRAW and Photo-PAINT color management settings.
CAVEAT!
When using edit bitmap in CorelDRAW to edit an image before choosing edit bitmap make sure you have saved your working CorelDRAW file and HAVE EMBEDDED THE ICC PROFILE! Other wise PP has no idea what profile to use and will default to the default PP color management settings.
Create a document using the new document dialog in CD it should follow the application default setting if not make sure the color management settings match the application settings ad something, name, save and EMBEDD THE ICC PROFILE.
Check your previews and how the file opens. Check an old file that previewed incorrectly and let me know please.
Ok here are the CorelDRAW dialogs.
Hi David
First of all - a big thank you for all the trouble you're going to to help me.
I've duplicated the settings exactly and as per your instructions. See captures below. I'm afraid nothing has changed - still the yellow screen.
The one item I couldn't duplicate was in windows CM / Devices/ Device. My Generic PnP Monitor has no 'Profile associated with the device'.
Windows CM settings
Cdr 2019 CM settings
I tried both RGB and CMYK as Primary Colour modes. My preferred mode is RGB but it didn't make any difference.
OK if this did not work then there is something seriously wrong with the installation. If you see value in the effort uninstall CD 2019, REMOVE ALL USER FILES, reboot Windows and do all Windows updates, reboot Windows. Reinstall CorelDRAW (INSTALL TO A DIFFERENT INSTALLATION FOLDER, NOT THE DEFAULT FOLDER) reboot system. Launch Corel Font Manager 2019 WHILE HOLDING THE F8 key and reset the font data base, allow time for the font list to finish creating and create the font structure. Launch CorelDRAW HOLDING THE F8 key and reset to the default work space (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE ANY THING OTHER THAN THE DEFAULT WORKSPACE, in Draw). Do the same with Photo-PAINT. Before you do that please send me screen captures of all you Windows color management dialogs.
I did everything you said and absolutely nothing changed. To be honest, I'm sick to death of this fiasco. I'm getting on to Corel tomorrow for a refund.
I would accept that it's something amiss at this end, but there's nothing wrong with other installations including earlier versions of Coreldraw.
Once again though, many, many thanks for all your input. I really appreciate the time you've spent on this.
All the best,Colin
I understand
