Missing Font Detected When Opening a CDR File But The Font Is Already Installed?

So this issue happens to me semi frequently and I'll just choose the font that's missing to "substitute". But this time choosing the font doesn't work. The font I have just will not display within Corel.

I have very few other programs on this computer, the only other thing I could use to test if the font file is messed up is Libre Office (a free word processor) and the font appears to work totally fine in that program.

What going on and how can I fix this? I have rushed jobs that have small changes that need to be made before print but now the fonts are all messed up in the files making this a much bigger issue now...

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the font didn't work but restarting the computer seemed to solve the issue for now.

    • It seems you have an issue with your system or the font. What font is it?

Was the font embedded in the CDR file?

      • The font is called MTV2C. I've never messed around with embedding fonts so idk if it is or not, probably not. It seems to be working fine now though. after restarting I didn't get the missing font prompt before it opened and I was able to use the font and move the graphics as I needed without anything shifting or changing.

        • CorelDRAW embeds fonts by default, if you haven't turned it off then it most likely is on. Under tool/options/save you can uncheck embed fonts when saving files.

          • I downloaded this font and it has a restricted embeddability. Watch where you try and use it.
