Hi there, I have just updated to the subscription v2022. And I'm finding it keeps crashing on me. I have experienced crashing in the past on v2020 because it hasn't liked the fonts. But this is crashing for no reason I can see. Is this happening to others of just me - tempted to go back to v2020
I seldom had issues with previous versions of CorelDRAW however with 2022 crashing has become a common occurrence that happens randomly - moving an object, zooming and even saving the file. (!) Just today exporting a file it crashes when the dialog window opens.I have done nothing to my PC, everything is the same, no new software, drivers, no surfacing porn, nothing.I'm adept with PC issues and a CorelDRAW user since x12 and I am stumped!
The odd thing is I have two other versions 2020 & 2021 and they all must be sharing files as they do this too. I will uninstall all of them and start over and report back with the results
I found the problem!
Its was the damn AVG antivirus that downloaded virus updates and was waiting for a reboot even though I had rebooted the PC a few times to see if that fixed the CorelDRAW crashing issue. It was a shutdown and boot up that triggered AVG to update.
I should have remembered when the PC is acting funky check the AVG antivirus if it's waiting for a restart, so check this as well!
Damn, double damn, and an extra pint of damn for the weekend, Daaaaamn!
I have two different installations of CorelDRAW 2022, one on my work desktop running Win 11 Pro and my Alienware X17 at home running Win 10 Pro. Both installations have problems with crashes. Two kinds of crashes occur. The more common one is I'll be working along and then suddenly when I click on objects I no longer see any selection dots. I can try to click on items and move them but the screen won't update the move. I can still zoom in/out, switch to any other open document tabs and even save my progress. But I have to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up Task Manager to end the CorelDRAW process. The close button won't work. I have to kill the process in order to re-launch the application. When I re-launch CorelDRAW it will say something about an auto backup file being available. So I kind of suspect the auto backup feature in CorelDRAW may have some kind issue. If I manually save my work frequently enough to avoid Corel's auto-backup engaging this kind of crash usually won't happen. The other kind of crash is more severe. I'll be working along and then "poof" the whole application window disappears. And all my progress is lost with the disappearing act. Earlier today I was encountering this crash repeatedly when using the Roboto Serif and Roboto Flex typefaces in a document. If the text objects were set in those fonts the CorelDRAW application window would disappear while trying to save the file. When I converted the text objects to curves the file was able to save successfully.CorelDRAW has all kinds of bugs, many of which are going not-fixed. The head honchos at Corel and higher-ups at KKR want to kick us long time users off the $99 per year upgrade protection plan. But they can't manage more than one or two updates per product cycle. Adobe Illustrator gets tons of point release updates and bug fix updates inside a 12 month span. CorelDRAW seems badly neglected by comparison.
