I have a large graphic (map) that I need to print to specific sections at a time.
Is it possible to lock/move the print area to a specific sections of the graphic, rather than move the entire graphic to fit into the print area?
If you do want to use a workflow that uses Publish to PDF - and that requires moving the drawing content such that it is "framed" in a particular way by the page boundary - then you might consider trying my Fit Page to Content macro to do some of the work of positioning the content.
In this video, I have a rectangle that has the same size as the target page size. I have put that rectangle on a non-printing layer. So, for each section of the drawing that I want to export as a PDF, I can:
That workflow looks like this:
The resulting PDF files look like this (screenshots taken with a gray background):
How well that would work for your documents, you would have to determine for yourself by trying.
Because the page in CorelDRAW is always centered in the 1800 x 1800 inch "world", that macro has to move EVERYTHING. I've tried to correctly preserve information such as non-printable status of layers, hidden status of layers, individually hidden objects, etc., but you could also take the precaution of using the macro for setting up PDF exports, but NOT saving the file after doing so. At a minimum, you should make sure that you have a "safe" copy of your document in the event that something doesn't work as expected.
