When I try to drag and drop a file into 2023 Graphics Suite on my desk top I get a "denied" icon. Anyone?
There was a botched update that broke CorelDRAW a little while back. It broke my install and when I reinstalled it, I can no longer drag and drop files into CorelDRAW. Photopaint doesn't seem to be effected. This new behavior is a complete show stopper for me as I rely on that functionality for what I do. This effects ALL file types. It acts like a permissions issue. I have seen the same behavior in web browsers when you try to drag an image to the desktop (which used to work until MS released an update that screwed that up too, a few years ago).
I found out that it was Windows 11, for some reason they thought it was a good idea to get rid of drag and drop into programs, like Apple getting rid of the head phone jack. The caught so much grief and update a month or so ago fixed it and now Windows 11 allows drag and drop and I don't have an issue anymore.
I am on windows 10 64bit though...
That's interesting, I've been holding off on Windows 11. I built my last workstation just before Windows 11 was coming around. It most likely has another year or 2 of usefull life left so that when I'll move.
We were still on Windows 7 and our computers were about 9 years old. We started to get alot customer provided files in Corel 21/22 & 23 and could not open them. We had to upgrade to Windows 10 or higher to be able to get the newest Corel so we got new Lenova's with Windows 11 and Corel GS23
I tend to build systems for a 3 to 5 year life span, my Windows 10 Pro system is in the middle of that but I'm not willing to live through a Windows upgrade.
I'm way too picky to have issues and I think the time may allow Windows 11 to settle down and save my sanity.
