Can anyone suggest a smart way to automatically insert a text box with file name and date when the document was saved.
Best regards Flemming
Like David I didn't quite understand the question, but try this
Sub SaveFileAsCopy() Dim FNm$, dt$ FNm = Application.ActiveWorkspace.Application.RecentFiles.Item(1).FullName dt = Replace(Replace(Replace(Format(Now, "yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss"), ":", ""), "-", ""), " ", "_") FNm = Replace(FNm, ".cdr", "_" & dt & ".cdr")
ActiveDocument.SaveAsCopy FNmEnd Sub

OK. I can see that my formulation is imprecise.What I want is a functionality that I know from e.g. Microsoft Word or AutoCAD.There I can insert a dynamic "Field" that is automatically updated when I save the file. Typically I do this in the Footer, where I have also placed other, but static, information such as name, e-mail address, phone number and logo etc.Usually I insert a date field with when the file was saved.Sometimes I also create a field for when the file was created.In addition, I would like to create a "Field" with file name that also changes automatically. Also when I possibly change the file name later.The idea is that I create a document template where the desired fields are placed.When I create a new document based on this document template and then save it as this document, it contains the above information without me having to do anything manually.If I later change the document, it will appear automatically.Sometimes I also use a field that contains the version number of the document and much more.Best regards, Flemming
Jeff has a solution for you.
Many thanks to all contributors. It is great that you are always willing to give good advice.I have now downloaded Jeff Macro and will soon implement it in my set up.
However, the joy was short-lived.Jeff's Info Helper is unfortunately not compatible with my version of CorelDRAW. 24.3.0.571.Is there any chance that an update will come?
