I have 3 large objects (aerial photography images) in draw. They are grouped and are 221.396" wide by 131.526" high. When I export them to jpeg maintaining original size and no compression it generates a 86.8MB file and can be viewed. When I export to tiff, the file is generated (765MB) but generates an error when read by any application. The most common error is "Can't read the file header" and "Unknown file format. Empty/damaged file or file not found". I have tried LZW and JP2 compression but it results in the same error. I would like to use tiff to keep the higher resolution for importing to a GIS application.
I found that by converting the grouped images to bitmaps and keeping original size the export to tiff worked.
Unless you have an application capable of viewing a TIF fike at its maximum physical size you may be seeing an error. CorelDRAW and Photo-PAINT have a maximum image size of 30,000 x 30,000 pixels.
