When using the Lighting effect with extrude the segments on round areas like the letter O are very visible and not blended into a gradient?
Please notice that the flat areas show smooth lighting gradients where the curved segments show many separate segments that are not blended. is there some way to adjust the number of gradient segments as you can when you make a gradient in Fill?
I'm afraid that's just how it is.Extrude is an old effect that's been in Draw for a very long time, and parts of it may not be up to par with what we expect nowadays. Maybe it was good enough before high resolution monitors and enhanced screen anti-aliasing?But I suspect there is no easy way to get the same result without splitting up the curved extrude parts, if we want to keep the same shading effect. If you look closer you will find that the shading is not just a simple fountain fill, it may (depending on what kind of effect you've added) in fact be shades going in more than one direction, and I doubt this could be achieved without breaking it up into smaller parts.A possible way around it could perhaps be if they used a bitmap fill?
I agree the extrude tool and the lighting are in serious need of updating.
