The price is relative of each country, taxes, and more. Corel receive almost the same money for all countries, although the price on some countries is twice the price on other
If you don't purchase a legal copy of software : No Company can take any legal action.
If you use the software and still have not purchased a legal copy : Yes. The software Company may take legal action against the user.
if i didnot purchase corel corp can do legal action for me yes or not ?
Uresh Shah said:Still confused ? Mr. Ariel says no corel corp forced to you for legal purchase and not answered my question. it is compulsory for the purchase corel draw and if i say i want to purchase X 6 then what to do ? sir please help me out for that ? what can i do
I never said something like that, but if there's any confusion, I should explain a little more:
- Corel don't force you to buy your programs. For example, if you have X5 or X6 you can work with your program and nobody will force you to buy X7 or future versions. I know people still use CorelDRAW 9.0 or 11.0 and it's enough for their jobs. The most common problem could be compatibility with other programs, including newest versions of WIndows, but nobody force you to buy a new version each two years or anytime.
- In the same way, nobody force you to use Corel software. There're other programs, some are cheap, some are more expensive. This is your choice, according with your needs and your work. There're even free programs, the problem is of course doen't have all the same features than CorelDRAW and almost nobody receive native file of those programs.
- Of course, if you use the program, you SHOULD buy and pay for it. There's no free version of the programs, only a 30-days trial of the software. You can't uninstall and reinstall the trial version each 30 days, even if you change the date of your computer.
- I don't know the law on India, but it's not legal to use a pirate program, then as a general answer, Corel corp can take legal actions against you, but also the local distributor could sue you. On some countries, even the Government or the Police could track you (also, they could check your IP address). But I repeat, since I don't live on India I don't know the laws of your country
If you believe the program is expensive, tell me the price (on dollars, please) and how much charge you for each design, and how many design do you create by day

Laws are different on each country. If you need to use the program on more than one computer, on most countries you can buy an extra licence for lower price. Also, the standard licence on most countries allows to install on two computers, such as at home and at work, since it's supposed that you don't use both at the same time. I don't know if it's the same on India.
You should think in the price of the software as a part of the total process, same as paper, computers, chair, desktop, etc. if you invest 800 dollars on a new computer, you need to remember that you will need to replace it on one or two years. Some people calculate the price of a laser printer only by consumables. toner, paper, but not the printer itself, it should be a part of the price for replace the printer after two or three years of use (sometimes more, sometimes less). That's a difference between companies that are bankrupt and others are thriving.
The software is also part of the cost. If you receive only 10 jobs by day for print, 20 day per month, that means 200 jobs per month. If the software change every two years, that means 24 months, 24x200=4800 jobs. Divide the price of the program (US$ 499 in the USA), that means 0.1 for each print. If you receive more jobs, the individual cost is even lower.
Also, calculate how many jobs did you every day. Suppose that you create only 10 job by day. Then, you should charge 0.1 dollar to each design. Do you believe it's a high cost or it's expensive? If you can't charge 0.1 dollar to your design, something is wrong.
What's the real value of the program? calculate the cost of the fonts. You receive around 1000 of commercial fonts, free for you. If the average prince is $ 50, that means you receive $50.000 on fonts. Calculate the price of photos, textures, etc.
Some prople believe that all on internet should be free. Unfortunately, this is not possible. There're several commercial licences very expensive, also the cost of production and distribution.
