indesign does not import well (or at all) into coreldraw is there a work around?
Is it from a third party? If so, have them save as pdf. Otherwise try some online converters.
:) thanx Myron ... I am not sure if you understand my question ... anything created in indesign does not import flawlessly and converting it does not guarantee importation without errors ... so i was asking for technical real solutions ... thanx for taking the time anyway
This has been the case for decades. Adobe own the PDF format and they regularly f**k with it just so that others have to use their software. I think the best way is to try saving as PDF, then opening in Acrobat Reader (or a third party reader) and saving again from there. There are still likely to be some oddities that Corel will not understand. There are no guarantees, ever, for cross application file migration.
thanx hywelharris ... yep i feared as much ... indesign is a sh*t of a program i can find work arounds for all other programs but indesign is the worst. We do large format printing and we only have problems with files created in indesign regardless of weather we want to open it in Corel or go straight through the printer rip.
We currently specify to clients that we do not accept files created in indesign.
Your best output only solution is to open an InDesign PDF in Acrobat and save as a TIF fike and output.
I've done a ton of multi-page ID PDF files with small amounts of text with reasonable results but many times I've done one page at a time and placed into Draw.
