Actually i m not good in photoshop then can i design it in CorelDraw.
plz advise me some useful tips.
Ravi,
Those type of text effects are best done in a photo editing program, Photoshop OR Photopaint. Considering your lack of knowledge in using these types of programs I think you will find it much easier to create very fancy text effects in Photoshop using "layer Styles".You don't have to be good in Photoshop to use layer styles, it does it for you.
Seems you have access to Photoshop so open a new psd (300dpi for printing) with transparent background, type anything, double click on the blue layer to the right of the text on that layer and the layer styles box opens. Select styles (on top) and click on any preset and watch what happens to your text.If you look below the styles you will see that with a check box you can add shadows, bevels, etc. and then adjust with slide bars
You can do this in Photopaint manually or with macros (great ones here http://macromonster.com/ ) as Photopaint lacks a layer styles type of feature.
Have fun
Just to add. I do lots of "pieces of work" such as text effects in Photoshop and then import into Draw and use Draw for the complete layout
hi bob
thanks for ur instant reply. i was assuming the same that u advised that i should go for photoshop to do this type of work as i m a web develper so i lack in designing knowledge.
but why theSignGuy (just next commentor) advised me to do it in corel. can i really create this in draw?
Hi Ravi,
Corel is a "vector program" and although you can get some cool effects it is limited. You will be able to get much better effects using a photo (image format). Vector design for the web also requires you design on a full pixel or you get fuzzy results (pixel view). Sign work requires vector format to cut.
PS: We do the same thing: I run the oldest web development/hosting/marketing company in PA. My graphic/marketing operation was officially registered in 1976. I have over one thousand web sites on line, all developed here. Simple stuff to very complex drupal stuff.
I use Draw and Photoshop as my choice of asset development tools.

Or not. Lets not make this harder than it needs to be. There''s always more than one way to skin a cat.
The design tools in CD are much more robust and easier to use. If you're worried about full pixels, you simply place in PS and go from there as part of the output process. No fuzzy results, and they look great on the web.

I respectfully dis agree when it comes to "text effects" for the web.
An image format by design will support so much more than a vector format. As you say keep it simple and go to PS and I say just go to PS and do the text effects in PS for the web, much better. I get so many text effect designs from agencies and they are mostly designed in AI for print and have to be reworked. The web is different than print.
If your vector text and effect is not on a full pixel but on the "hypothetical half pixel" you will not get a true clean crisp image, you get fuzzy lines and they are at their worst when it comes to text with fine lines. This is why pixel view exists. I see this on almost a daily basis.
For someone who lacks knowledge in using these programs, layer styles in PS are push button, it's that simple. Hopefully Corel adds a layer style type effect to PP.
