More work could have been made to it. I wouldnt had settled with only making the changes you made. It more look like you havent done anything to it. Again try using the Tone Curve, Channel mixer, contrast and what have you, but use the Image Adjustmet tools at jhand in Photo-Paint.
Here is a quick thing made to your image again using Tone Curve in Photo-Paint. It gave more contrast and depth to the details. And much more than this can be achived if you only use the tools in PP.
Great work Stefan! Draws a person into the image... almost 3D effect... from a very flat and ordinary experience to one of "full flavour" as a mixture of well defined image areas. More like a sculpture than a flat almost pastel water colour painting.
Makes me want to hop in my row boat and take a break on the water.
