I used to have this function on a previous version of Corel but when my computer crashed and I had to update to a newer version of Corel I seem to have lost this function. Now I get a bar that controls the transparency of the erase/draw/etc. This was a very useful tool, can someone please tell me where this would now be located?
Actually I believe it was just the Ctrl button and not the Alt Ctrl.
What I see, with the Paint tool active:
That's probably what I have. I'm not certain what the old function was called since I no longer have that program, but it used to be that I could tap erase on the image and then when I held down the ctrl button and moved the cursor and tapped again it would erase (or draw) a straight line between the points. I just want the function back.
Sorry, I may have been unclear. When I wrote, "with the Paint tool active", I meant, "while working in Corel Photo-Paint 2018, with the Paint tool as the currently active tool".
The same keys and key combinations function the same way with the Eraser tool in Photo-Paint.
Compared to some versions of Photo-Paint, more recent versions have changed the appearance of this in a way that may be confusing. When drawing or erasing using Ctrl to constrain motion, for example, the action is taking place in a constrained way, but the "nib" that is visible on-screen is not constrained.
This shows use of the Eraser, with and without using Ctrl to constrain to just-vertical and just-horizontal:

I too lost the ability to constrain the eraser tool with the Ctrl key. Did you ever find a solution?
