Hello!
I'm having a problem with editing text in CorelDraw X4. The problem seems straightforward: I can add text but as soon as I try to use the 'text tool' to edit it, the text disappears! It's still there, because I can select it and edit it, but I just can't see what I'm selecting/editing! When I select the 'pick tool' again, the text reappears! Cutting&pasting also makes it reappear.
I'm used to using X3 - this glitch on X4 is driving me nuts.
Anybody?
To edit the text, you need to do one of two things, after using the pick tool to select the text that is to be edited:
1. From the menu, click on Text->Edit Text... or
2. While holding down the Ctrl & Shift keys, press the 'T' key.
Either method will bring up the Text editing dialog box.
I've seen this but only with certain drivers on certain video cards. Try updating your video card drivers to the latest version, hopefully that solves the problem.
Regards,Hendrik

… and install Service Pack 2 for CorelDRAW X4.
One final suggestion: Make sure you are not typing on a Guides Layer. If you are typing onto a Guides layer then if Guidelines are set to be visible your text will have a blue outline, otherwise your text will totally vanish when deselected.
Take a look in the Object Manager to see what layer your text is on.
Best regards,
Change the "hardware acceleration" for your graphics hardware to "NONE". That should solve the problem.
