Remove Outline When Cutting

Hello, EVERYONE!!! I'm new to this forum and also new to the world of Corel Draw. I am currently working on a graphic for a little league team and was wondering how I can keep my GX24 from cutting the outline on the image? I tried changing the outline to 'none' but it still seems to cut the image twice. What am I doing wrong?

  • Make sure your outline width is set to Hairline. Let us know if that solves the problem. - Scotty

    • We have always operated our GX24 on filled shapes with no outline. Several on this forum use no fills and hairline outlines. Both work. We have found that sometimes it doesn't like type as fonts and will not cut out some letters. We have found that an absolutely surefire way to cut lettering is to convert to curves (Ctrl+Q) and break apart (Ctrl+K). This may be a bit extreme but it always works.

      • Hi Sue,

I recall the Roland GMS macro that prepares the art for the GX -24 is open code.

It changes filled shapes in your doc to outlines automatically, then forwards to cutter driver.

        • Thanks for the replies, I figured it out last night.

Using the Smart Fill Tool I filled in the image and change the Outline Width to NONE, this gave me a single cut on each line. I tried the using the Hairline Width hoping that it would be to small a width for the GX24 to recognize.....I was wrong. This machine is very precise.Indifferent

Thanks again for the replies. I'm sure I'll be on this board more often than not.

      • What Software are you cutting from? Is it the Roland software that came with the unit or a 3rd party software? If you can send me the cdr file yo are working on I'd like to take a look at it.
