Greetings to everyone.
I have a peculiar problem with coreldraw x4. My friend had sent me a word document with the Hindi Mangal Unicode font, and he had asked me to manipulate it. I downloaded the trial version and began to start working on it.
But the problem is that copying and pasting in word documents works fine, but when i copy fron word and paste it in CorelDraw X4 some glyphs and characters are jumbled / incorrect.
Could some one please help me on this issue.

There are still some areas in Unicode especially double byte fonts like Devnagari, Chinese etc. where Corel lacks. The issue has been forwarded to Corelians and hope to have it solved in X5.

I use PDFCreator to create PDFs to import in DRAW. However its not convenient always. Any minor changes required in layout is not possible in DRAW as I get the text as graphics (Converted to Curves.)

Hi Anand, does your text automatically get converted to curves? Of course Draw asks first if to import in text or curves.
But in my case whatever option I select I just can't get the text via PDF from Word in any form. Probably my fonts are toooooo complex for draw as compared to Dewanagri fonts.

When I use PDFCreator, it does not convert my fonts to curves. I have to choose import as curves while importing in DRAW.

What wrong you get when you import ? Are the characters (Now as curves) get crumpled or do not appear at all ? If this is the case, I had similar issues. If I remember well, "subset the font to 100%" setting had solved my issue.

It very much depends on the font. If some of the character mappings are unreadable then you may have problems in using the font. Since I have shifted to 32Bit Win XP, I am having certain issues with particular characters in Devnagari script. I have not found any settings to overcome these issues. These characteers display well but do not print. The workaround I use is to convert the font to curves and every thing is right for output. However I have to remember always not to save the converted file.

No they are not there at all

I m using a commercial pdf printer (PDF Factory) When I search with pdf creator I get many, can u please provide the link of the one that u use please.

I am sure your PDF creator software also will have this setting. If you download PDFCreator then you find it in the PDF settings dialog box. Let me know if you don't find it. I shall post the screenshots.

It's surprising. As you said in your earlier posts, it could be because of the complexness of the fonts. Not sure. Now you can try it with PDFCreator and see if it works.
