I know this is probably a dumb question, but here goes...
I am looking for a keyboard shortcut....
Is there some way to select Artistic Text (as an object) other than having to mouse up to the toolbar and select the pick tool?
If I type in some text, it seems to self-select and you can enlarge it using the handles. But it doesn't really select itself as an object because you cannot move the word without first changing to the Pick tool. Trying to move it only repositions the text cursor.
I am looking for a keyboard shortcut.
Its CTRL+Spacebar

Open OPTIONS (Ctrl+J), go to:WORKSPACE / PERSONALIZE / COMMANDS / TOOLS BAR / SWITCH SELECTION STATUS(*) (see Icon) / SHORTCUT / NEW SHORTCUT...
and type your prefered shortcut (in this example CTRL+Space) and apply it.(*)See English version term.
NOTE: Don´t forget to save in: DOCUMENT / Save options as default for new docs. (files)

Hey Silvio
There's no need to define a customised CTRL+Spacebar shortcut. Its already active.

Yes, you´re right, but we don´t know if "DW" uses this shortcut for other function. Users have different preferences.
For a long (in older CorelDRAW versions) I´ve used a different one (ALT+Space).
Oh yeah. I did'nt think of that...

There are not "dumb questions", only "dumb answers". You´re always welcome.
Thanks all. I knew it was something like that. I kept pushing spacebar but when in text mode it just made a space. I even did alt+spacebar. I don't remember what happened but it wasn't what I wanted.
Ctrl+spacebar was exactly right.
Thanks again.

In addition: This feature can be applied also to any other tool that you´ve used before, and not only to the artistic text.
As an example: if the last tool you used was "Ellipse Tool - (F7)", pressing the shortcut (Ctrl + Space) you can switch between PICK TOOL and F7 (or any other previously tool used) and vice versa.
