Does anyone know how people generate these dots as vectors from an image in CD? I have no idea, but wouldn't mind knowing.
First: scan the image using best resolution. It is recomendable to transform in Grayscale and make a good definition of contrast.
Open CorelDRAW and import the image. Select the image (pick tool) and click on BITMAP > OUTLINE TRACE > DETAILED LOGO...
This opens CorelTRACE to convert your bitmap into vector. Adjuste settings as you wish.
Close CorelTRACE. You´ll be back automatically to CorelDRAW. Your new vector will be placed over the original bitmap.
The operation is simple (read HELP <F1> for details).
I do appreciate the help Silvio!
Hi mjind,
First you'll have to convert ur bitmap into Black & White Monochrom Bitmap, with higher resolution but with lower LPI with appropriate Dot Type and Angle. The way to do this is from Bitmap>Mode>Black and White (1-bit) then select Halftone, And then trace that Bitmap. It will take longer than tracing any normal bitmap, so be patient.
Another option which I haven't tested as yet is this Free Utility
And Any particular reason for having this in Vectors?
Thank you for that! It's close, but I would like the program to generate little circles as vectors. This way I could incorporate this into computerized cutting path for my sign equipment.

I've tested that, It's amazing how accurate the dots circles are, none of the circles has more than four nodes, really awesome technique those guys have discovered!
That is an amazing program Aleem! This is so close to what I need. Now, how to get all the dots the same size, just more concentrated in the darker areas, less in the light areas. Then I think it would be just like the original image I posted up above. Maybe I could somehow

Hmm, all dots of the same size, that's a totally different thing. Let's hope someone else jump in with other ideas.
