is there a way to disable live text preview.....?????
its very annoying and slow when working magazines, even in a supercomputer.....
thanks in advance
well mosh...thanks but i didnt meant what you are suggesting....
i dont have a problem with the fonts displayed in the fonts list....
i have an issue with the live text preview new feauture in corel x4......
let me give you an example....when you have a rectangle with a picture powercliped , when you move it around, the whole text morphing, previewing
continiously the final transformation.....it is a nightmare believe me when you have a three column page....
its very slowwwwwwww.....
is there a way to avoid it?
thank you.....
You have to check the text option to show flyout with font sample. This over-rides the live preview.

well jerry....i mean that i have a problem with the paragraph text live preview, not with the preview of the fonts.....
...i have a quad machine here (a brand new one) and 3,2 gigas of ram.....when im moving objects around...its causing major delays in my workflow.....
i hope there will be a fix soon.....
i stopped using x4 and turned back to x3 for that..... its a pitty!!!!
Unfortunately there isn't a way to turn it off yet.
Regards,Hendrik
ok...thanks Hendrik...at least i know now, so i wont have to search any further..
Try to use font list and font editing etc on the object properties docker.
You CAN turn ON and OFF, just like Jerry Said:
Tools / Options / Text / Fonts / Click "Show flyout with font sample beside font list"
This disables the Live Text Preview but still lets you see the font right next to the font list.
well...thanks a lot for the hint but i dont mean about the font sampling.....
if you will read a couple of posts above, corel's official answer is that "it cant be done yet".....
i wish the'll create a fix when sp1 pack will be releashed....
but thanks for the answer...
Do you mean that you wrapped the image around the text and when you move the picture around, it is very slow to move because the image is wrapped? Because if this is the problem you can maybe try to view in wireframe to move around, I found that this usually makes a lot of things faster. I know it is not a solution but it may work...
