Trying to create my own macro.
open notepad, do a "save as", name it test.gms, change file type to all types, save to prog files/corel...draw/gms
close corel and reopen. start new page and it instantly crashes. If I delete that file from the directory all is fine again.
I have 47 files there at around 357kb. Is their a limitation as to the number of files can be there? Am I missing something. I've done this successfully many times before.
I don't think you can create a GMS file with notepad. It is not a text file.
I don't have X4 online at the moment to check, but is there a macro manager in the macro toolbar? If there is, that is probably the best way to begin creating a GMS file and thereafter you can use the macro editor.
Hello tracym; I don't think there is a limet, except for the computer resources. John posted a series of How To's for making a macro. you may find them on his web site to help you. ( http://www.gdgmacros.com ). And take a look around at the macros there, a lot of them are FREE ( but you can send him a little beer money, everybody Appreciates beer money for the work they do.

I'm not actually putting anything in the gms.file. It's just a blank slate to easily record macros that you can recall easier. I have it working now. Just had to rename it several different ways until it would take. Now just need to create the code for it.
