I was wondering that are peoples feeling on calibrate the ruler on screen to real-world distance or should I just leave this be.
I do it! What is it good for if you don't? Just make sure that you are using your monitor in it's native resolution and if you have one of them new nice twice as wide as high monitors :), I wish you good luck!
Thanks, Alfred.
Hey Simon,
I never do that, but I can't give you an intelligent reason why. I guess it's just not something I ever use in the work I do. Maybe I'll give it a try...

Since I use CorelDRAW as my graphics tool for printing T-Shirts (Direct-To-Garment), I want to see what the design looks like at a true one to one, just to make sure there are no glitches in what will be printed on the shirt(s). So, I do set my environment so that when I select 100% zoom, I am looking at a relative true size graphic, i.e.: one inch on the monitor equals one inch on the real world.
I, also have to say, that I do this especially for the graphics files that my customers hand me to print on their shirts. I look for junk to clean up and also how it will print as I have to have a minimum resolution of about 200 dpi for photos in the shirt print design.

For me, I just took out a ruler and trial and errored until 12 inches of ruler = 12 inches of RULER. Now, If I want to see something one to one on this monitor, I have to remember 34%. It would be nice if I could add that as a zoom preset.
