Phil,
Have you looked at the new Olympus PEN cameras (E-PL1 and just last week, the new E-PL2)? You can get an EVF as an add-on. Even though it's an additional cost, it still beats the price of most DSLR cameras. I bought the E-PL1 last summer and I LOVE it. I am not a pro and I do not want to lug around a big camera. I need it for my on line classes, so it's a tax right off for me...but it also takes awesome photos of grandkids and landscapes. :-)
I am saving up for the EVF add-on, 'cause I just bought a second lens for my E-PL1. I'd love to have the Bluetooth capability of the E-PL2, but down the road I can upgrade to a new camera body and still be able to use the lenses and accessories that I know I'll be amassing!
If you're looking to buy, the prices have dropped significantly on the E-PL1 since the PEN came out.
Hi Patti,
are those PEN cameras the ones which are still very compact in size, but give a similar quality output to a DSLR? If so, I saw some sample images from one of those ages ago and I forgot what type of camera it was. The images were great, really smooth and grain free, no comparison with a normal compact camera.
Can you post a sample image somewhere for us to look at?
Best regards,Brian.
