I received a 24" Panther vinyl cutter and was wondering if there is any way to use CorelDraw X3 or X5?
This is an old Signwarehouse cutter that was made by GCC (Jaguar).
Is there a printer driver for this cutter?
Any help would be appreciated.

However, it does react to binary (non ASCII numeral text) data streams. And this is limiting on what could be used to drive the plotter. Hi Hugh, Thanks for this info. I'll send to eCut author today for his insight. It comes with it's own separate output application to send data out a com port, and I'll find out if it has binary output abilities. Hi Hugh,

from Ecut author:
"Hi Jeff, actually I do not understand why GCC do not understand ASCII files. PLT - as You know, simple TXT file, and it is very strange that plotter does not get simple chars...eCOM sends bytes (not chars) - and if that plotter does not understand eCOM stream, then I can do nothing with this..."
So it seems that it might work, but I'm still not sure... since he says above that it sends bytes.

Jeff: as I mentioned earlier, the GCC "Panther" is a firmware modified Jaguar II. In other words, I do not know what Sign Warehouse people did to modify the firmware. I do know that the USB port on the "Panther" is useless, but works on an unmodified GCC plotter.....
Sometimes, I think about buying a new GCC Jaguar II and selling my older unit. <Sigh!>

Don't do it Hugh! Get a Summa.

So, I can't use this Panther plotter the way I use my little Stika plotter....using a printer driver directly from CorelDraw?
Is there a printer driver for the Panther plotter?
