hi,
my friends likes to make a present to cut diamond patterns into steel, but he doesn´t find any suitable technique,
how to create right patterns, that fills entire circle without odd effects.
would you be good enough please to share your valuable experiences or tips to create a few samples?
thanks in advance and have a nice holidays!
Hi, just to make sure did you use the power clip for this? If not then I guess you could one in this case.
Create a circle
Create the diamond pattern in a rectangular format. It should be big enough to cover the circle.
Power clip it inside.
Adjust the pattern so that it fits in well.
See if that works.
To start with, you may want to establish a repeatable pattern. Once you establish the pattern, repeat it until you have an area design you can trim to the desired end shape (Circle). Combine. All are just outlined objects so far. Increase the line width on the pattern. Then make the Circle outline even larger. Convert the pattern outlines to object and then the Circle outline to an object and weld them together.
hi ,
thanks to you all for your kind share ( knowledge with experiences are most valued)
one question, is there any way / idea, how to repeat patters as Jack beautifully presented here
without any distortion or cutting the patterns around the outer edge please?
best of luck!
Hello jadeoasis; One way is to select your objects, Group them and use the short cut keys "Ctrl+d". If you set the distance for your duplicate it will place a duplicate there.

Not sure exactly what you are wanting.
First thing to do is try and recognize the most simplified pattern. In your request it is a hexagon with added lines.
Then repeat the pattern to establish a lager pattern that can be used to facilitate a more efficient repeatable pattern. Turning on Snap to object will be very helpful. Group this set.
Now you have pattern you can piece together and create lines of the same design. Corel has a neat trick. Select and drag the group so that they inter lock and while still holding left mouse button down, strike the right mouse button. This will paste the design. Careful placement here please. Corel will remember the action and the distance you moved the original. Here the repeat function comes in handy. (Ctrl+r). This will repeat the paste an move action as often and you hit the "r' key while holding the Ctrl key down.
Hope this is helpful. The attached CDR was created in X4 and aligned to place the "Stars" center in the center of the page. Of course it still need the drag, paste and repeat upward an a few more downward.
Once you get the hang of the proceedure you can modify the design using the variious tools in Corel's arsenal.
