I loaded the trial of X6 and now I have no thumbnails for X5.
I reassociated the files with X5 ... but still no Thumbs.
Win7 64bit
Any Ideas?? TIA
I can't keep thinking why X5 doesn't have this problem... It's funny that Corel step back in what is suppose to be an "advance" version, cause that's the hole idea right? I have entire clip arts without thumbs.
X5 would also have the same problem if you install it allowing it to become the default JPG and BMP handler and then uninstall it so that there is no longer a default handler for JPG and BMP files. Windows might choose another bitmap editor to become the default, but it will not always do so and it will not necessarily be the editor that you want unless you choose it yourself through the file associations.
Its not a new problem that is specific to X6 -- it is inherent in the way that windows works. But X6 has added a further complication by being also available in 64 bit and it seems there are also limitations (windows limitations, I suspect, rather than specifically Corel limitations) in using 64 bit features from 32 bit programs.
I'm sure Corel could help by clarifying exactly what the limitations and compatibility implications are -- but its looking to me that if you want to use X6 as default but keep the ability to use previous versions, you should probably be installing the 32 bit version of X6 and making it the last install.
Thanks Harry.
In my case the problem is with CDR files from an old clip art. I got no problems with X5 and previous versions with this files but when I install X6 the thumbs just gone. If you want I can send you a file to see if the problem is just mine. I use X6 in 32 bit.

Diego, the problem is the older clipart, itself. The best way to handle this is to go to unleash.com and do a search on ROMCat. That is a free utility that allows you to view all of your older clipart files as well as all of your CDR files.....
Thanks Hugh!
Already do it and thanks again by the way. It works really great! I just want to make my point with this, if there was a problem with the clip arts I should have the same problem with the older versions, right? But older versions worked just fine with them.
