I am stunned that CD still does not have feathering of vector objects-- Why would this be????
Is there a workaround?
Thanks.
I had the exact same thought when I realized this. I was really hoping X6 would be the version to finally get it then X7, sigh. I think it's the only drawing package that i can think of that doesn't have this feature. Maybe we'll see it in the next version. The feature is pictured below from Adobe Illustrator. However, I think an interactive approach would be much more efficient and effective. Maybe even a docker complete with curve profiles and editor, now i'm dreaming. :)
I'd also love to see inner glow!!

I do not disagree I mention it because SO MANY TIMES we get what we ask for. Then the complaints start from those who did not understand what they ask for. Lets face it no CD files with this in AI. Then there will be the EPS and PDF output issues.
The problem with any effects that use transparency is that while they can remain live in the application during any PDF or PS print output that transparency must become a bitmap with a transparent bounding box. So in reality the issue remains the same, it's just hidden from the designer. What happens for the most part is that files with these effects just get rasterized in PS or Acrobat and sent to print. Very few true PDF RIPs really handle transparency.
The GDI rasterize the entire page anyway but still some of the drivers can't handle it properly so we have the same issue manual rasterization of the file before print.
Web output has its own issues depending on your file format of choice.
