This looks very much like the cause of the problem that Mike Ver Duin is having at http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/t/33943.aspx
Is anybody else finding their fontnav (64 bit or otherwise) is diagnosing italic fonts as duplicates?
My details:
X6 installed on newly delivered 64 bit win 7 professional (with all available windows updates).
Asked fontnav to find fonts from D:\Users\Public\Documents\Corel\Content X6\Fonts (as installed from X6 DVD).
The catalogue shows at most two fonts from each family of four:
Going to file > Settings > Duplicate Fonts shows the reason: the regular and italic versions of the font have been improperly detected as duplicates of each other.
It applies equally to the fonts on the Corel CD and those already installed in windows, including standard fonts such as Times New Roman.

Thank you Jesus. Or in this case, harryLondon!
Exact same problem and I'm 32 bit windows 7
And all those duplicate fonts for each of those is the result of installing them just yesterday. I think I'm going to uninstall BFN for now and see what happens.
I think I'm happier to know I'm not crazy than I am mad that it is a problem.

What Foster said...we've chatted with them but we didn't come up with mutually beneficial terms to license the software.

What about NexusFont? Their technology looks really cool.
Hello; I think NexusFont works good but you have to watch it, it will load the fonts in Windows Fonts dir.

No, it works great! I was asking if Corel might consider talking to Nexus as a replacement to BFN. As for 'load the fonts in the windows fonts dir.' I'm not sure what you mean, any font in your windows fonts directory is already installed and loaded. Yes, Nexus can install fonts to that directory also, but if you just let it run as a background process minimized to the system tray, it doesn't 'install' any fonts, it just makes them available to you to use on the fly.
