There is something you can try: right-click the GIF right here inside the forums and save it. See if that opens in Photo-Paint. I just did that and it seemed to open fine; there were 14 frames, if that is correct?
Nope.
Tested it on two distinct machines now (Windows 8 Ultimate, 64 Bit and Windows Server 2008 R2).
Same error on my Windows Server 2008 R2 development machine here:
The error message (in German) says: I/O read error.
Rather unspecified error message, I'd say... And it's wrong anyway, because any other progam on my machines is able to open and run the animated GIF.
However, the error is displayed on two different machines running Corel Graphics Suite X6.2. So I'd say this is a PhotoPAINT error.
Could you try to rename it and open it with a new name?If you are using X6, which version of X6 are you using: X6.0, X6.1 or X6.2?
Seems something is odd about it. But if Brian could open it, then something is done differently in each machines.
I did what Brian suggested: save link to desktop via right click > Go to PP and via Open to open the Gif. No success.
When I saved the image via "Save image" it was saved as a PNG. The PNG file, no animation, was possible to open.
Thanks, Stefan,
the current name is Nibbler.gif. Which name would you suggest? I.e. where would I need to set the focus to in changing the name?
I'm running X6.2 (see my sig )
I will send an email to Corel and let them get attention of this.
