cannot connect to account (allegedly)

Re-installing X6 onto a new Windows 10 PC. I get the request to verify my account. Get told I don't have an internet connection. Of course, I have one. It asks me to connect. I complete my email address and password, press Continue. Nothing happens. I close down and get a popup telling me to upgrade. So, it seems I am connected.

Question - Is it worth sorting this out?
