Using X6 trial, I found that adjustment of selected colors (Adjust/Selective Color) in PHOTO-PAINT works very strangely. Mainly it applies to images in CMYK color mode. For example, I have picture that contains Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue and Magenta color samples in CMYK mode.
1. Moving sliders in Reds spectrum affects on Blue sample, but not on Red.
2. Moving sliders in Yellows spectrum affects on Cyan sample, but not on Yellow
... And the same problems with Cyans and Blues .5. Greens spectrum works correctly.
6. In Magentas spectrum, sliders really affect on Magenta sample, but they are working in inverse mode – moving Magenta slider toward ‘+’ direction removes magenta from sample while moving Cyan slider toward ‘-‘ adds cyan to it (if I do it in Absolute mode), etc.
For RGB colors, adjustment works almost correctly. Excluding Magentas. Here are the same problems as in CMYK.
All these problems are present in DRAW as well as in PHOTO-PAINT.I tried to do the same in X5, and found out that there this function also does not work properly. In X3 this part of color correction have no these errors. Finally I’m wondering – Is this the known issue? It seems very strange that so far no one paid attention to it.
In selective color, when you select "blue" for example, then only "blue" will be effected. This is how it works on my machine anyway, but.........YES THERE IS A BUG IN THE MAGENTA CHANNEL! I have complained about it for years and either the developers cant figure it out or they refuse to fix it.
Hi Mike. If I understand you correctly, Selective Color on your machine works fine in all spectrums (excluding Magentas) for both RGB and CMYK color models? My system is Windows XP 32bit SP3, Corel DRAW GS X5 15.2.0.686 and Corel DRAW GS X6 16.0.0.707If I convert my CMYK file with color samples to RGB mode, it works properly. When I select "Blues", I can see this:
It really changes blue color (and cyan, of course). That's OK.
But if I try to correct blue color in my source CMYK file, I see that:
Actions in Blue spectrum change red sample, not blue.
In CMYK mode it works as you had explained in your first post, it is just that I never work in CMYK. In RGB mode, just the Magenta is "wonky" and wish it could be fixed.
I am surprised that a Corel Employee hasn't yet responded to this thread! I know many work in the CMYK environment and this bug(s) should be rectified.
PS, I really liked your artwork with the KPT example recently, nice stuff. http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/t/39576.aspx

In my opinion this whole dialog should be fixed or removed it's too weird to use.
Thanks, Mike. I've been using this plugin since time of Corel DRAW 10. In this version ShapeShifter was included in distribution and had been automatically installed with Photo-Paint.
