How to export large hoarding size artwork to a small A4 size pdf?
Start a new doc at A4 size. Copy/paste artwork to the new document, ensure outlines are set to scale then size accordingly & export
I have dimensions associated with the artwork and every time I have to break them apart before exporting.
Same here. I use a macro to break apart all dimensions within the selected and then it groups the selected. The macro isn't always error proof but works well for most situations. So if I have a large layout I'll copy/paste a copy to the current doc run the macro then scale it down to fit then publish to pdf.
Now that I think about it one could easily create a macro to
1. Copy/paste selected
2. Turn off the Dynamic Dimensioning for each dimension in the selected. instead of Break Apart
3. Set all outlines to "scale with object".
4. Group selected
5. Either stop or automatically scale down to fit size of choice.
Only problem I get with mine, since I don't have an "On error Go" command in yet, is that if your selected has Powerclips I get an error. Probably a good fix for that would be to add a step in between step 1 & 2 to rasterize any powerclips then press on.
This looks like a lengthy procedure and I don't have the skill to make macro. Instead if there was a way to export artork to any size we require like in the case of Autocad then that would really speed up the workflow.
