Hello,
I need to import DXF files to Corel, but when I import them, the text appear as paragraph text, not as artistic text...that's not a problem if the paragraph text includes all the text...but it do not do that. Some texts appears as paragraph with red lines (so it is not possible to see it, as well as not possible to convert directly to artistic with Ctrl+F8). Also, some paragraph text appear as 2 lines instead of just one, because it do not feed in wide but yes in height.
I would like to import the text directly as artistic...or as paragraph, but with the same appearance of the original DXF file.
Thanks for your replies and best regards,
Hi Ronny,
thank you very much for the reply, but unfortunately, this option only work for new paragraph text, and the only thing it does is if you create a new paragraph, while typing the text, it makes bigger the text box.
I attach an image of the problem I have:
As you can see, there are many red dotted borders, which are paragraph text that do not fit on the text box.
Thank you for your help.
Yes, expand and shrink sounds like a possible answer.
This is the opposite of the "fit text to frame" option -- it grows the frame downwards (preserving its width) to ensure all text displays and does not change the size of the font.
Hi Harry,
yes expands and shrinks does what you explained, but only work when you edit a paragraph text, not when you import text...unfortunately
I have got an idea...that could work. Is open the file, select all the text and convert to a smaller font (not text dimension, just the font type), then as all the paragraph text is correctly viewed (no red dotted ones), I can convert all the paragraph text to artistic text, and the select all again an change again the font type to the original one.
The only "disadvantage" of this system is that I could not select all the text and convert all at the same time to artistic. Anybody knows how can I do this? Maybe a macro?
Thank you in advance for all your help!
Expand and shrink might work for imported text if you make the setting and then do tools > save settings as default.
Default settings are applied to only new documents, so you need to test by importing into a document created after you have saved settings.
I have done what you suggested, but the "problem" persists...
Do you have any idea in how to convert all the text at the same time from paragraph text to artistic text?
Thank you
