CorelDraw x7 has the same issues as those discussed in "Latest CorelDraw X6 update BROKE output of WMF files (Windows MetaFile)" i.e. closing opened curves.
But also it produces poor quality EMFs. The lines are fine but the text letter spacing is bad, word have odd spacing, letters that are contained in a box in the CDR spill out in the EMF, words flow together etc. All in all the file is useless.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?
Hi MikeMe,
How do I upload to what "dropbox or the like", is there a method here I am not getting?
Hi MikeWe,
I had to make a PNG of the PDF file so you could see the issues.
This image was created using Create PDF.
We have to use Create PDF when making the PDF file from MS Word because we need to keep TOC links in the Word file.
As you can see:1st image (WMF) has the closed curves issue,2nd image (EMF) has a bad kerning issue,The 3rd image (EPS) looks, to me, to be just a messed up header. If I use Print to PDF the 1st and 2nd image comes out the same as you see here, the 3rd (EPS) looks great but we need to keep TOC links in the Word file so it isn't an option.
Files exported from CorelDraw x7 as PNGs look fine but we need to have the text in the images searchable when PDFed from the Word file.
So, any suggestions?Do you know if Corel Corp. will be putting out a patch to fix the issues?
I guess my work around is to go back to a version of CorelDraw that does work for our purposes?
CheersQuinn
