tear off menu items?

How can you pull out and tear off menu items. Example how do i tear off the shape tools from the toolbox etc..?

    Did you try this...

    To add or remove a command on a menu

    		 Back to Top
    1.
     
    Click Tools  Customization.
    2.
     
    In the Customization list of categories, click Commands.
    If you want to remove a command from a menu, click the menu name, and when the menu displays, drag the command off the menu.
    3.
     
    Choose a command category from the top list box.
    4.
     
    Drag a command to a menu in the application window.
