Why is there so many backups? This normally didn't happen before. but when I do certain things I save the file to protect against a crash. I don't have "backup on save" checked, so I don't know what the deal is.
I have a program called filehamster that does this. It is not a macro. It monitors certain folders and when it detects a file change or a new file it saves a new file to a external drive with a modifed file name reflecting the time. This gives me revision history. I suspect you have a similar program someplace, not inside CorelDraw as a macro but running on your system. Maybe one of these is installed AutoVer, AutoSave, AJC Active Backup, Cascade Point, DocShield, Genie Timeline or something similar.
I wouldn't think malware would do something friendly. This is a friendly result. It is giving you file history/revision history. If it is a new computer or laptop, maybe one of the bundleware programs is doing this. If you are saving your files in Documents, try making a new file, save it to a non documents location like c:\temp. Save a few times and look in the folder. If you don't get a bunch of new files, this suggests a program is watching your Documents folders for changes. Like hywelharris suggested, check the task manger. There is a program called autoruns by System Internals, (now bought by Miscrosoft,) that is one of the best for finding what is starting automatically when your computer starts. It is a free program.
