Is there any way to set the dimension text as center-justified by default? I tried many ways to set it but after the fact seems to be the only way.
I think that this is really a Styles question, because it is driven by the "Default Object Properties" that can be found in the Object Styles docker.
After you have done that, you have changed that property of the Default Object Properties for the current document.
If you want that to apply to future documents, then right-click on Default Object Properties->Dimension, then select "Set as New Document Default".
Eskimo, thanks for your reply. It appears you misunderstood my post. I am referring to the justification of the text. I need that centered and not X (none) as default. see image below.
The text will center automatically but not allow justification changes unless broken apart (see video). When I dimension an object, I want to go back and make changes to the text I want it already set and center-justified. This is a text formatting issue for dimension text.
to clarify - I meant you can't change the text content while it is still a dimension.

If you change the dimension to non-dynamic, then you can type in whatever text you want without breaking the dimension apart.

I kind already knew the answer to this original post but was hoping I missed something. There is no way to do what I'm asking with the normal program capabilities.
Not sure if this is what you are trying to do, but if you select the text tool (f8), then select center justify text and apply it only to dimensions, it will set the default of the text on the dimension lines to center justified. Save your current settings as default, and it will remain that way on every new project. If that's not what you had in mind, then I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to accomplish.
Bingo! Thanks Craig, Eskimo and Myron for your time. I had to re-enable the warning popup to set Dimension as part of the style update.
