I have X4 installed on my PC (Windows 7 Ultimate)
Today I installed today (for the 1st time) a trial version of X6 to see if the Export feature had been improved, it has been, I looked to see how much to upgrade when I noticed X7 is now available.
I uninstalled X6 and installed 32bit version of X7, when I 1st click on the Corel Icon I get the Splash box, but it the goes away after “Installing user interface” and then nothing
If I click on it again I get a Error 38 message about reinstall etc. (which I have done a number of times)
Corel License Validation Service is stopped and if I manually start it, it stops again as soon as I try to start Corel.
My X4 still works.
Is there a solution?
When you register the software Corel issues you with a No, this no is optional when you select trial, I have done both i.e. installed and selected trial with no number and with a number.
Just clutching at straws, If you search the web Error 38 is common but with no real solution. I will uninstall X7 to see if X6 trial works again.
Hi,
In the past with x4:
The problem is caused by the service called: "Protexis Licensing V2 service"All you need to do is enable that service before opening coreldraw.
I found that on the web yesterday, but that service is not listed on my PC
Dave,
It must be running to launch the program. Go to task mgr and click all services you should find this: If you don't see it go to "services (local)" and start it. Program will not run unless this is active
Thanks, I cant find that in Local services but have found it in Task Manager, it was Stopped, if I Start it is shows "Running" as soon as I click on X7 it starts to load i.e. Splash Screen, but then does nothing, during that time the PSI service is stopped.
X6 Runs if I start that PSI service and keeps running.
