At last, we now can set the color/contrast of the desktop and not be so blinded by the abundance of white.....
Thank you, Corel, for this nice gift.
Pretty damn cute.

Not.
Do I even want to install this update?
I also had to laugh at this one for premies only:
Something every other vector editing software has been able to do for, well, about forever. But hey, Corel can use it as a premie only update to justify charging more for something that is a standard feature elsewhere. For instance, I have used Xara Designer Pro for sometime. I cannot remember seeing this hide an object feature and saying, Wow! That's innovative!.
How much is premie membership again?
Ah well. Maybe we less fortunate (i.e., the unwilling to spend more for standard features) will be able to obtain such an advancement in UI design and functionality with X8.

Hi Mike
For some reason Corel is like the sore I can't leave alone still use it for a lot of little things because it is fast and easy. I suppose I should just accept they will never reach their full potential.
I am a premium member only because I joined just in time to get the special price for X7 when first released We don't use X7 at all in production it is just too flaky I know others do, good for them.
I see they fixed the color problem of colors changing when converting multiple text item to curves lets see 6 months to return to normal we hacked the registry to get what we wanted for backgrounds back in x5. Keep complaining to corel to fix the program though. we have about 14 items we see as bugs we don't list them or waste time with corel because we don't have time to go back an forth.
I certain some one will say, gee boss can I spend $ 99 so I can hide items quark and x6 are doing 40 % adobe the rest
Corel has become an accessory for us rather than a reliable platform.

If I were not already a Premium member I too would be VERY upset. It should be a standard feature. The super light background in Photo-Paint X7 is just unacceptable. I reverted to using PPX6 because of it.
But since I am a Premie, I am going to enjoy not having to wear sunglasses!

weird, mine does not show this option after installing Update2.

Hah Hah...who says CorelDraw doesn't phone home (nobody does, it was rhetorical...)?
The location indicated in Sign's screen shot, which was previously displayed on my screen shot in the second post of this thread...is no longer displaying in my Options dialog. Gone. Vanished.
So rather than Corel doing the right thing by simply enabling it for every CD user--you know, something they took away and then added back for subscribers only--they disabled it altogether for non-premies.
That really chaps my butt.
Geez. I am pissed off.
Look, Corel, being able to set the damned background color is not some premium member type of thing.
Barcodes in X6? Yep, I agree with that decision. ANY item which has to do with functions that are added during a release cycle? Yep, I can live with that. I am a good capitalist. I believe Corel deserves their doggie beans. I do as well...as does everyone licensing your product.
The difference between barcode functionality (any function added during a release cycle) and a UI issue should be bloody obvious.

I agree, it is shameful that something that should have been releases on day one of X7 is now a premium feature.
In my option X7 has been a half-baked, bug laden waste of time for many. Even in 7.2 many U/I bugs exist, I have reported them back before 7.2, however, like the botched Connect failure that got fixed in 7.1, getting them to investigate the issue properly requires repetitive posts that leads to many condescending posts just to get their attention.
They clam to listen, when is this, who do they listen to, and why do we need to report so many bugs over and over. When X7 came out I found a half dozen show stopping bug, 7.1 fixed many of them but ruined many of the tools making it useless, and now that 7.2 is out 6 months later I am finding it usable but just usable.
The content share is mostly unusable, sometimes it work well, usually not though, slow and unresponsive.
With this level of obvious bugs I am convinced they don’t use the software internally, they have no unit testing that would have caught these obvious failures, it is 2014 and they code like unit testing doesn’t exist.
