I am on my second hour of searching for the location of the autobackup file (CDR X7, Windows 7). In settings, the autobackup is set to save in the "temporary folder", but this information is not very useful.
I have looked in "C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp", but there are tens of thousands of files there, and when I sort by date, I do not see any files large enough to be the file I want. I have also tried searching this folder (and the C drive) for any file with "autoback" or "corel" in its filename, but I could find nothing.
Why is the default path not written in the help file or in settings?
Am I the only person who cannot find the autobackup file? Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Hello gpdcorp; I use a different file from Arel, but they both work nomater where you save them. My settings are attached also. Some of us start drawing in Corel and after I get the first line drawn I use Save As and give the file a dir. and a name, and while workig I use Ctrl+s keys which automatically saves the file over my organelle file........

Hello gpdcrop; KEEP Playing with IT, You'll get it right......... My grandpapa told me a LONG time ago LEARN to drive it OR get off the buss.
[:|] LOL IF you use Corel, soner or later you'll NEED it.
I totally agree with gpdcorp. I think I remember in some old versions that auto backup worked and that I could recover a file after crash. But in new versions, after crash, I absolutely never could recover files, ever. It simply doesn't work.
What is suppose to be done to make it work? I have also tried with choosing a specific folder for auto backup, with no luck. And why would I need to set something up to make it work? Why doesn't it simply do what it is intended to by default?
Does the file get erased on every occasion, even after crash? Is it a bug?
Anyway, it doesn't work by default for some users indeed (even though when you look in options, it seems OK). Do I need to have programming skills to actually fix the software myself to make it work? I'm just a user, and Corel corporation should do their job properly.
For now, I'm doing on my own manual back up, which is reliable, for a difference. (I have disabled the auto backup, because it only annoys me by pausing my work for no effect. Best solution for now).
