I downloaded a vector template set, from a commercial site, that I have looked at previously with no problems.
Now, however, when I attempt to open the file with CorelDRAW X7, it asks if I want Text as Text or Curves and immediately halts with a pop up box stating that "CorelDRAW X7 (64-Bit) has stopped working. "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
Corel Photo-Paint X7 is even worse. After asking about conversion information, it crashes and the spinning cursor starts wandering around the screen.
Other EPS files seem to open without any problems, but everyone of the various stationary collections I download seem to behave the same way.
Here is one example;
As stated, I have used them previously without any issues, so I don't know what is going on.
Windows 10 HomeAMD FX-4130 Quad-Core 3.80 GHz16 Gig RAM
Looks like that was a good clue. Installing GhostScript got rid of the initial crash and allowed me to see the package contents. I wonder if there is still a Win8.1 library file hiding somewhere on the system, as it crashed the same way while I was browsing the image's contents.
Well, it looks like the solution was rebooting after installing GhostScript. I noticed there was a Windows update pending, so I rebooted the system while refilling my coffee cup. Since then I have opened three different stationery collections and saved them as CDR files, without experiencing any issues. Thanks for your help. Things appear to be back to normal. Note to Corel: You might want to look at your program's dependency on GhostScript files. A warning that it is missing is preferable to a crash. ;)
