I had bad situation to promote or educate some illiterate people around me to use legitimate corel software
(They ask me "Why they release Corel Products in Internet. Say keep them locked, Then we don''t use that. They don''t know about basic knowledge about anti-piracy laws, how they can affected by it)
Here I'm found some basic steps using legitimate Corel products.
1. By using valid Serial Number installing X5, X6, X7 or X8 Versions.
2. visited Corel Support by using valid Email ID and its Password.
3. Providing Serial Number to validate. (in X8 after completing installation automatically email login appeared. by ITMAIL product is to validated).
4. After Validation Visiting Registered Products Tag Installation Date - Product - Serial Number appears.
5. Personal Details Profile must be created manually by user itself and to be updated.
6. Product Status and Subscription Tag -> (Like Start Date, Renewed Date, Days Left, Licence : Serial Number, Status : Active Tag appears.
Profile ID : 000000000000000000000000 ? - What you mean by Profile ID:
7. In landing page Personal Identification Number (PIN) 0000000000000000000000 ? - appears - What you mean by PIN
8. How can I make the Installed Product Verification in Membership and Subscription Tag
in Corel X8

US$16.50 per month is too much expensive for you? If you create just one job each day, that means to charge US$ 0.50 for each design.

If I have any additional cost in my work, I must pass on this cost to my customers in the form of extra charges in my prices and my clients hate extra charges. Too, if my prices are higher, customers will prefer to look for pros with better and cheaper prices.
According with internet, 2399 BRL = 776 USD

Let suppose that you use the program 20 days by month. On 3 years that means 720 days. If the cost of the program is 776 dollars, that means around one dolar by day. If you produce only 10 works each day as average, that means 0.10 dollar of additional cost for your program.
The rental option means around 15 dollars on 30 days, that means 0.50 dollars of cost for each day. Since you could work only 5 days / week, that means 0.75 dollars by day. If you produce 10 works, that means USD 0.07 additional for each job.
What's the average price for one design? And how many designs (average also) could you create in one day, week, month? One more US dollar is too expensive for you?
Regarding the price of graphics card, my comment was a mix of ironical/humor, there're cheap options and high cost option for everything: a mobile, a computer, a program. You don't need to use the most expensive option, but sometimes the cheapest option is really expensive if it doesn't work.
R34L0RD said:Given this scenario, I have two choices. The first, I won't say, because I am in a typically American forum where everyone thinks that copyright is god. The second, which is the most viable at the moment, I will stop working with CorelDraw and anything related to graphical publishing.
No, you have a lot of options. "Using a pirate version" vs "I don't work at all" is not a logical alternative. Not all people need to use the latest version. Lot of people still use X7, or X5 or even older versions. It's the same than buy a computer, a mobile or a car if you have a lot of money you can buy an Audi or Mercedes, but if you don't have enough money and need a car, buy a second-hand Volkswagen. You can't say that the options could be "steal a car" vs "I don't go to work because I don't have a car". You can use the autobus, train, subway... If you really need to work, there's a lot of options. Of course, if it's just a hobby, it's to spend a lot of money, but if it's for hobby an older version could be more than enough. The main problem is to see if the program is useful for you or not. Several people have no problem to spend a lot of money on a powerful computer, a comfortable chair, the latest mobile... but software? No, it's better to download if from internet for free.
It's nothing personal against you. This is a general and mathematical cost. I know that not all people have enough money for buy the program. I live on Uruguay, then we're neighbors. Most people can't afford a car, no matter if it's Mercedes or Volkswagen, or even if it's 0 Km or second-hand. But nobody claims that Mercedes should produce a low-cost car for less than 500 dollars. If you need the car as part of your job, you must include it on your costs. As simple as it. If you buy an inkjet printer, you must to remember that the cost is not only the printer itself (for example, USD 100), you must consider also the price of the ink and the paper. And the lifetime of the printer, since you should replace it on the future. The softare is not less valuable or important than the paper.
According with internet, 2399 BRL = 776 USDMinimum salary in Brasil: 900 BRL = 281 USDLet suppose that you use the program 20 days by month. On 3 years that means 720 days. If the cost of the program is 776 dollars, that means around one dolar by day. If you produce only 10 works each day as average, that means 0.10 dollar of additional cost for your program. In 3 years the program is 2398.62 BRL, an laughable economy regardin the 2.999 BRL. Have a thing in mind. Brazilian economy is not U.S economy. What's the average price for one design? And how many designs (average also) could you create in one day, week, month? One more US dollar is too expensive for you? Yes. As I said, paying for a program in lifetime is IMHO, stupid. I paid for my Windows once, I paid for my computer once, I paid for my printer once. Even if I say the average price of my services, you will never understand the difference between expensive and cheap, because you think only looking at the U.S. economy, which is TOTALLY different from the Brazilian one.No, you have a lot of options. "Using a pirate version" vs "I don't work at all" is not a logical alternative. It is not a valid alternative to carola, unlike you, we know that laws can be changed, that laws are rules written on paper, and paper accepts anything. I understand that the program had a cost to be made, I also understand that the developers MUST earn money for their work, but I do not agree to curtail their use. If they do not want, for example, their programs being copied, or they redo their trading model so they can make money with or without people copying the program, or else, keep the program in a safe and do not tell about their existence. DRMs really sucks... Not all people need to use the latest version. Lot of people still use X7, or X5 or even older versions.Has Corel released the free download of the old versions? About use old versions, the last problem could be about receiving files made in newer versions, the sender should be warned to save the job in older versions, another pain in stomach, It's the same than buy a computer, a mobile or a car if you have a lot of money you can buy an Audi or Mercedes, but if you don't have enough money and need a car, buy a second-hand Volkswagen. You can't say that the options could be "steal a car" vs "I don't go to work because I don't have a car". Copying in not theft. Theft lets you without your car. Copying, you still have your car.
About Corel, I've made my choice. I will work as computer technician. After all, for people who think the money loss due to piracy is different from the money loss of an unsold program, there is no difference between not making money and not making money. Program too expensive and too restrictive. I dont' care if you disagree. Developers have had their costs, but our money does not grow from trees.

As I said before, I live next to you, on Uruguay. Brazil is 45 times bigger than my country. According with you, if you want to have a free version, we should ask that somebody pay us for use the program...

it's just an option, if you can't afford to pay the entire cost you can divide the cost and for most people it's a good option. And when the next release was launched, you can upgrade without extra-cost. If you buy the program, when the next version was launched, you should pay an extra-cost for the upgrade. Then, on 3 years is a lower price, but of course, it's your choice.
Once again, I don't live on the USA, I live on SouthAmerica like you. So, I understand cleary the problem. The average salary on our countries is less than the price of the program. On Europe, almost anybody can afford to buy the program. Moreover, local taxes make the program even more expensive. Btw this is not only a problem of Corel. Same happens with Adobe, Autocad, Office and several other programs.
Have a nice day!

PD/ este jueves juegan Brasil y Uruguay, rivales y hermanos desde siempre. Que sea un gran partido! Buena suerte!!!
