Sometimes when I group objects, the group becomes a "Control Group."
1.) What is a control group?
2.) Why does a group become a "control group" when I didn't specify it as a control group?
3.) How do I ungroup objects in a "control group?" When I try to ungroup "control group" objects, nothing happens -- all the objects remain as a "control group."

That's funny. The first thing that most people said when don't know something it"s "I think it's a bug". Of course, it should be a failure of the program, not a failure of knowledge of the user! Then, other people will repeat that we found another bug, and somebody will ask why Corel doesn't fix the bug. Just because there's not a bug. If you use dimension tool on a group, it will be a "control group". If you use it on a single object it will be a "control object". If you select the dimension only, it will show only the dimension options. And you can select the dimension and choose "break apart" (if you select only the control group or the control object this options was not available) Same happens with other tools, such as the Drop Shadow (you can select the control group or the entire drop shadow, for break apart you should select the entire drop shadow, not the control object or control goup).

That's funny too. Because, the contrary is also true.
When a real bug is pointed out, some people blindly insist that it is not a bug, and not a failure of their knowledge.No amount of detailed explanations seem to budge them from their view.
It is this attitude, where people do not want to inspect a problem or do not take the time time to do so, and instantly brush it off as user ignorance that keeps the software from evolving into a better one.
Unfortunately we have quite a few.
In this case however it appears that it is not a bug, and Eskimo has illustrated quite clearly why it isn't.
Do you believe that a "control group" is a bug?
Not a bug, and thanks for the advice. But Corel X8 is the buggiest Corel release I've experienced in years. Also has new "features" that make life harder. For instance, using the delete key in a number dialog box doesn't do anything. The original number remains. Frustrating! Using the delete key in older versions set the value to null or zero (which is intuitive).
