Was considering upgrading from X6 today and am using the trial version of 2018. I cannot "drag and drop" anything into Corel 2018 (png's, jpgs, bitmaps, eps, pdf... etc, etc). My on-screen pointer/arrow just turns into a black crossed-out circle icon. Obviously will never upgrade to a program that doesn't allow me to do such a simple yet extremely useful task. HUGE glitch!!!! Any ideas out there? I have found other forums where people have posted similar issues and they never received a decent or useful response. I already tried running as Administrator and nothing changed...
the title is a bit confusing... CorelDRAW X8 and 2018 are different versions. X8 means "version 18.0" were the X i 10 in roman numbers, and 2018 (the current version) is the version 20.0
Anyway, I use version 2018 and I still have X7 installed, on both you can drag a drop one or several objects,
What kind of object are you dragging? maybe there're different file format at the same time?
Ok, it is "2018", I edited the title (thought they were the same). In 2018, I cannot drag and drop "any files" as specified in my original post. That includes, jpgs, png's, bitmaps, pdfs, eps., etc... If you can import those files into Corel2018, yet I cannot, I need to figure out why that is. I have ran Corel DRAW (x6 and x7) for years now with no problem. Why all of a sudden upon install of 2018 would I not be able to drag and drop anything. I have found similar post with no solutions from others. Thank you for your time.
Is anyone from Corel actually involved in these threads? Being told to reset the workspace or reinstall the app isn't a solution. I have reinstalled three times, same problems... can't drag and drop, double-clicking a Corel file opens a new instance of Corel instead of opening a new page in the current application that is already open.
if you already reported your situation to the Corel Customer Support it should be tracked by the company.
Anyway, it's not easy to find a solution if we can't reproduce the issue. For example, I use CorelDRAW on different compuers, under different versions of the operating system, and it doesn't happens here. So, maybe it's another issue, such as a conflict with other software, or a security option (maybe an antivirus) or something like this.
