Hey Coreldraw community.
'bout to pull my hair out on this one.
I have files that I want to open on my desktop or my network drive here at work, and Coreldraw x8 opens up (with Administrative privileges), but nothing shows up.
Nothing appears.
This happens with my network drive files as well. Dumped my Temp files, and that didn't work. Restarted, didn't work. Uninstalled Coreldraw x6 from hard drive, didn't work.
At a total loss at this point.
OS = Windows 10 64 bit.
I'm seeing this also in newer versions of CDGS as well. I'm pretty sure I did not see that before. Maybe related to a windows update. Same in Windows 8 but not in Windows 7.
Is there a possible fix for this then? If this is a common issue?
Possibly.
After verification, it's on Windows 10 only.
Something on Windows 10 changed the proper execution of DDE (reduced timeout/explorer performance) - which can prevent slow machines from opening documents in applications that require use of DDE.
This is affecting other applications that can take a long time to load that use DDE.
One test that proves that is that if the file was previously opened using File > Open in the app and then you double-click the file, it may open a second instance.
