I'm trying to set up a 2" wide x 4.5" tall image for a magazine ad and could use some advice.
Can I change the dpi at this point? I ask because when I Publish to PDF the font looks sharp but the top logo isn't that sharp.
When I export a png everything looks sharp but the file size seems small, just 604 x 1354 pixels.
what should I do to get a nice sharp magazine ad??
First don't use PNG send a PDF.
Is this an image in CorelDRAW with text on top of it? If so the image may not have sufficient resolution to start with. If it does have enough resolution the PNG export dialog can set resolution but for print I'd send a print default PDF.
Yes the background image is a jpg at 1280x1280 pixels but only 96 dpi, with text on top of it.I don't care if the background image is low dpi, or should I care?
The top logo image is 2,000 x 1,800 pixels.
by default PDF do mean Publish To PDF, or Export > PDF??
If this is a print magazine ad it needs to be 300 dpi at the ad size 2"x4.5" as it has bleed the PDF size needs to be 2 1/4" x 4 3/4".
Set page size to 2 x 4.5, make art 1/8" bigger all the way around, make sure images are 300 dpi at placed size and use the preset, print export setting for PDF.
You're a big help David, thank you very much!
