Hello to all,

P,
A couple of things could be going on here.1. On the cutter make sure you have your material loaded and don't forget to set the Origin if needed.2. In CorelDraw only use hairlines with no fills.3. In the CorelDraw print dialog, go to the Layout tab and select Reposition Images to... Choose Bottom-Left4. You need to mirror the image either in Draw or in the print dialog.5. Make sure you have the correct driver installed and select it6. Open the Properties for the cutter and go to the Size tab, select Get From Machine.7. Close the Properties and click Print. It should start cutting after processing the file.
If you make changes to the position of the cutter, like after doing a test cut, you'll need to reposition the cutter to the left edge of the material and choose Set Origin on the Camm1 itself. If not, it will not cut because it doesn't know where to start. The fan will spin, but nothing will happen.

Hi All,
I'm brand new to this forum. I got here trying to find out how to do exactly what you guys are trying. I realise that the thread is pretty old but I found it and this may help others.
For years I've been using an old DOS programme to drive my Roland Camm1 PNC1800 but it only worked from Win98 so I had to run a dual boot system and boot into 98 for cutting.
Times change and I decided to learn how to plot (cut) direct from Corel X4.
Here's what happened. I downloaded the latest driver from Roland for XP and installed it. Tried a test cut and exactly what happened to Predator happened to me. The fan started and the cutter moved to the centre of the sheet and then stopped.
O.K. RTFM. Read the instructions that came with the driver <README.TXT> - follow instructions and it works perfectly.
The main point that made the difference was disabling the <Rotate 90 deg.> command on the plotter itself. For years I've done my drawings in a CAD programme for plotting and worked to a "landscape" format which required the plotter to be set at <Rotate=90 deg> (this is covered in the <README.TXT> file).
Follow the other instructions in the file relating to page size etc. and you cannot go wrong.
I hope this helps someone else.

Thanks for replying Hugh. When I export, from Corel, to a plt file and then import it back into Corel, curves become a series of connected lines. Do you have any idea how to remedy this? Your help is very much appreciated. Also, do you know of any free software out there that I can use to simply cut from Corel? CheersGerry CoucillBlue Bird Signs
