Here's one for you... Got a new Toshiba laptop with Windows 8.1. Runs great. Then I installed my DecoStudio 1.5 / CorelDraw 4x package on it. Those run fine. But now, all of the new style Windows 8 apps are broken. Doesn't matter which one I try to run, all that happens is the app's splash screen comes up, goes away, and no app running... Everything else runs fine. Any thoughts???

Uninstall DecoStudio 1.5 & CorelDraw X4. If all is well intall X4 - check - then install Deco Studio.

X4 is much older than windows 8.1. You are likely to need to install it in windows 7 compatibility mode to stand any chance of it working in windows 8.
Hello deharriman; I guess you know that X4 was not built for Windows 8, and I don't know about your DecoStudio. You may want to try and run those in compatibility mode.
