I purchased corel technical suite instead of coreldraw graphic suite to be able to use corel designer. (It isn't sold separately)
I purchased the upgrade package and was told that it has the same software as Coreldraw Graphics Suite so it would be my only option if I wanted CorelDesigner and an update would be available for all software when made available. This is true BUT the issue is that when CorelDraw 2021 came out over 6 months ago Corel Technical Suite doesn't allow you to upgrade Draw, Paint, Font Manger etc. even though the new versions are all available 6 months ago if I had purchased Coreldraw Graphics Suite.
I paid almost $650 for the upgrade program. Now I wait...........
In theory Coreldraw Graphics Suite 2022 could be released before Coreldraw Technical Suite is currently updated!!!
This would mean that I would still be using Corel software such as Corel Draw that is two versions behind.
Why won't Technical Suite release updates to Draw, Photo Paint etc. as they are released?
Still Waiting!!!!!
I had to drop Designer because at the time the version of Draw that ships with it could not exist on the same system as the stand alone Draw and the stand alone is always newer and different. I wonder if Core was smart enough to fix that?
Thanks for the response David. I wish that that Corel could understand that to be professional it is necessary to have the latest versions of the software in the Suite when each new software release is made available. If that isn't possible offer CorelDesigner as a stand alone software.
So No...Corel isn't smart enough to fix it!
Lets be kind and remember that there are real people behind "Corel". They are some of the smartest people I know. They like us are limited by time and resources.I am thankful for them everyday as they help provide a way that I can feed and care for my family.
Bob from my experiance it's the senior management who make the calls and I'm not sure if they have programming degrees or business degrees. My demand for Draw dominates so Designer had to go no matter how good it was, too bad.
To be honest I don't understand why you don't see Corel try harder to sell the user on Corel based design/graphic manufacturing/image editing work flows.
As an example I use AfterShot Pro, CorelDRAW, Photo-PAINT and PaintShop Pro. Thanks to efforts of employees at Corel and users like me the Graphics Suite has had professional level document color management since X5 but to utilize PaintShop Pro instead of Photoshop I and others have to work harder to maintain color integrity. I do this but Corel could sell many more licenses of PaintShop if they made it not only a smart choice but an easy and smart choice.
I can say that with X8 forward many choices made by Corel in terms of features and defaults have been none productive and or negative in terms of productivity! Very few have been real assetts.
Agreed.
Thanks Shelby,
I agree but I'm frustrated. I don't want to have to purchase Coreldraw graphics suite as well as Corel Technical suite just to use Designer. Seems ridiculous to me.
