Can't scan (twain) into Photopaint after windows 10 upgrade

Not sure if anyone else has struck this problem. Since upgrading to windows 10 I have not been able to "acquire image" into Photopaint x6 (using twain). Photopaint X6 essentially freezes up and crashes. Latest drivers for scanner (Epson V700). Tried uninstalling and reinstalling technical suite x6. All to no avail. Has anyone else had this issue?

Use WIA interface TWAIN not supported in W10

Not true David. Twain works fine scanning into wordperfect and other graphics programs in win10. WIA is a completely dumbed-down interface no detailed controls for exposure etc, so I won't be using that. Any other suggestions anyone?

But not for CorelDRAW specifically 64 bit

Sorry - I should have mentioned I am using the 32-bit version for that very reason. Twain interface isn't even an option in the 64-bit version in any windows edition. So I still don't know why the 32-bit version is crashing when acquire image is selected.
