SVG export text align bug

When exporting an image with text surrounded by spaces and a white background color the alignment becomes left aligned instead of centered. This looks like a bug that should be fixed.

The image on the left is Designer X7 and the exported image is displayed in IE11 on the right. Notice the text whitespace is changed after exporting to SVG.

Hi jodekirk,

Looked into the issue and what I found is the output in Firefox is correct and it's properly spaced in between the borders of the text box, Chrome and MS appear with the issue. Now if I output the svg and bring it back in the spaces are respected on import.

Looked a the SVG code and I don't see an issue with it. Going to investigate the alignment from your file you provided and test different angles of the issue to see if there is something more we can do.

Hi jodekirk,

Did not find a SVG code issue in the output, I could not find a SVG font element that could be added to align the text correctly in the box to preserve the appearance. The only thing that worked was in the output dialog, I choose the Font was output as Curves. That kept the presentation of the output correct but if you were on keeping the preserving the font in SVG it does not work.

So for now I can only provide you a work around but no solution for Chrome and MS as is. Firefox seems to be much better at handling fonts.

Any other ideas, please post.
